Our community

The township of Cecil Plains supports the local forestry and farming community. The township has a general store with takeaway, post office, police station, hotel, council pool, town library, caravan park, a number of sawmills and other farming related services.
The Cecil Plains Homestead sits on the banks of the Condamine River. This heritage listed homestead offers comfortable accommodation to weary travellers in a picturesque setting.
Accommodation is also available at the Hotel Victory. Originally built as a boarding house in 1932, it took until October 1938 and three concerted attempts to obtain its licence, hence the name "Victory".
The Cecil Plains Cotton Gin about 5km west of the town supports our main crop industry, cotton. The gin is one of the largest in the southern hemisphere and runs day and night during the cotton season, usually from April to August.
