Each year Bruce and Denise Morcombe visit schools around the country to educate students on harm prevention and child safety. Together, they have turned the tragic abduction and murder of their teenage son Daniel into a cautionary and educational message. For the first time, Bruce and Denise will be visiting Cecil Plains State School on Tuesday May 7th at 2pm. Parents and community members are invited to attend however there will be very limited time for questions and photos at the end of their visit. Student Council members have decided to give Bruce and Denise a gift to thank them for their visit. As a result, Day for Daniel will be held earlier than usual this year on Tuesday April 23. All students and staff are asked to wear red and will be gathered for a group photo which will then be framed. Students in red are also asked to bring a gold coin donation. All money raised will be given to Bruce and Denise directly as a donation to the foundation from our school. Both of these gifts will not be possible without the support of students, parents and staff. Please keep an eye out in the newsletter for more information on both the school visit and our 2013 Day for Daniel.
