A couple of weeks ago I spent two days in Brisbane doing training in classroom dashboards, an electronic system of sorting data to see trends in the school, classes, year levels and individual students. As you know one of the priority areas we have been focused on is attendance. As I’ve already indicated, the improvement in our student attendance is one of our highlights noted by the School Improvement Unit team. Our attendance rate of 92% for 2014 was higher that other P-9/10/12 across the state at on average 89%. Through Classroom Dashboards, I can break those figures down into year levels, classes and individuals. So far this year I can tell you that the average attendance for our P/1 class is 94.71%, the 2/3s 93.8%, the 4/5/6s 94.71% and the junior Secondary 90.45%. Overall, that has the school travelling at just under 93.5%, which is ahead of our 2014 attendance rate, so well done to all.
What can you do to help at home? I won’t go into too much here as I talked about attendance only a few weeks ago. All that I ask is that you celebrate this success with your children and keep doing what you are doing in helping us achieve such great results.
