A priority area with in our AIP is building “Confidence” in our school, the children and our staff. Just as the children need to know that we know they are working hard to do their job, learn, so do the staff. All of us are much more motivated to continue our hard work if we know it is recognised. We changed from “Student of the Week” a couple of years ago to “Star of the Week” as we wanted them to know that they are stars to us. We also introduced the “Adult Star of the Week”, so that we could recognise the great work our staff and volunteers do in our school. As much as it is usually me choosing an adult star, I do get a lot of nominations from children of parents. Another way parents and children can show their confidence in our teachers is through A Day Made Better program (please see the advertisement later in this newsletter). It is a great opportunity to demonstrate our recognition of their great work.
What can you do to help at home? Talk to your children about their teacher/s and what might make them a great teacher. Take the time to nominate or support an already nominated teacher who you think is an exceptional teacher via the A Day Made Better link later in this newsletter. Encourage your children to do the same if they think they have a great teacher.
