In agricultural Science students learn about plant and animal husbandry as well as aspects of horticulture. The subject has a heavy practical focus with students engaged in cyclical activities of establishing and maintaining various enterprises.
Students will be maintaining gardens, setting up an irrigation system and setting up aquaculture tanks for receiving and maintaining native fish.
Students will be learning about improved pastures. They will be germinating pasture seed in a seed starter, before pricking them out into planter tubes and maintaining them in the green house. Winter vegetables will be planted and maintained. Golden Perch will be maintained and before release into a local dam.
In addition to maintaining the vegetable garden and aquaculture tanks students will be learning a little about engineering as they build bridges for the Aurecon Bridge Building Competition.
