5/6 and High School
This term in Auslan, the students will complete an assignment to give them a greater understanding of the achievements of people who are deaf. The assignment will be a biography.  The students will be allotted a person and given information about them. They will also be given questions to use as a guide when writing the assignment.
The students will also view two videos of two deaf women who have achieved significantly in their life. The children will then complete comprehension questions related to the video.
In class the students will be working on developing conversations. Each student will be involved in a conversation with Mrs Cassidy before the end of term. These conversations will all be videoed and used to assess students on their ability to sign and answer questions correctly.
Each week the students will have a story signed and they will be asked to answer the questions by signing. The students will also answer the questions by signing. Some of these stories will be used as written comprehensions and used as part of their assessment for the semester.
The students will continue to build up their handshape dictionary.
3/4 and 1/2
The students will continue to practise the alphabet, number and basic vocabulary. They will also do activities related to handshapes.
