Cecil Plains P-9 State School offers students the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sports, including:

The school annual events throughout the year include the Swimming Carnival, Triathlon, Cross Country and Athletics Carnival.
Students are also provided the opportunity to represent the school for Swimming, Athletics, Cross Country, Touch Football, Netball, Cricket, Tennis, Girls and Boys Rugby League, Soccer, Basketball and Orienteering.
