Design Technologies - Materials and Technologies Specilaisations promotes the development of hand skills and safe work practices in the workshop. The skills acquired will be a valuable asset in the home and transfer to hobbies and other activities as well as providing a knowledgebase for transitions into workplace environments. Students will develop their skills to interpret diagrams and instructions enabling them to make a variety of small projects. Students are expected to make design decisions on each of their projects. A key focus is the development of accuracy and pride in measuring, cutting and finishing projects.
